Clipart Utilities - Copying
It's really easy, whether you're a PC or Mac user! You'll also find some valuable tips on using graphics on your web pages. Remember to read our disclaimer notice.
If you're running Windows...
- Right click with your mouse on the image you want.
- From the dialog box, select "Save Image As..." or "Save Target As..."
- Save the image with the file name you want. Remember to indicate the proper directory.
If you're running Macintosh...
- Click on the picture you want and hold down the mouse button.
- Then select "Save Image As..."
- Save the image with the file name you want. Remember to indicate the proper directory.
If you're using graphics...
- Use graphics only enough to enhance your site. Overdoing things could make it look tacky.
- Use simple graphics shareware such as Paint Shop Pro to edit images to suit your needs. Images can be easily cropped and resized.
- Use the smallest possible image that will do the job. Otherwise, the graphics will take too long to load and visitors to your site may become so irritated, they won't stick around.
- Wherever possible, store graphics in the same directory (perhaps as a sub-directory) as your web pages, rather than linking to them at some remote site other than your own. Every link outside your own web site location can slow things down.
- Use graphics with transparent backgrounds. They can be used more universally.

This site has three types of images:
- Images Created for Our Own Use
- Images Used with Permission
- Images in the Public Domain
Images Created for Our Own Use
In general, these images include those (a) used as part of the site design and (b) appearing in the collection "Custom Clipart." You are hereby granted permission to use images in this category for non-commercial purposes, provided you acknowledge the source. If you wish to use any of it for monetary, gainful purposes, in other words, sell it to make a profit, please contact us to obtain express, written permission. It's only fair. Creating this site was - and continues to be - a huge endeavor for us. If you're going to profit from our efforts, we should share in it. Right? If you have comments, please let us know.
Images Used with Permission
In general, these images are identified on this site by acknowledgements or permission notices. If you wish to use images in this category, you must contact the original copyright owners to obtain their permission.
Images in the Public Domain
To the best of our knowledge, all the images in this category are completely free of any ownership claims, because they are believed to be in the public domain. Nevertheless, Software Labs (http://www.designio.com/) posted a public announcement October 10, 1996, to the effect that some works, which Bill Chin claimed to donate to the public domain as his own, were suspected to be those of other artists. If you are, or if you know, the artist of origin for any such images, in fact any images appearing on this site, would you kindly contact us immediately so that we can take corrective measures. Copyright is about the only protection available to creators of intellectual and artistic works. Please help us make such protection work for everyone.
Disclaimer
We have made every reasonable effort to avoid any copyright infringements resulting from the use of images on this site and we hereby disclaim responsibility for claims related to such use.
